Welcome to the Office of the Tax Assessor and the Cadastral Section. The Office of the Tax Assessor under the direction of the Lieutenant Governor is responsible for the assessing of all Real Property in the Virgin Islands. Once every two (2) years, the Tax Assessor is required to reassess all commercial and residential property subject to taxation in the Virgin Islands. The Tax Assessor is also responsible for the preparation and mailing of property tax bills. The Cadastral operations include the maintaining and updating of public and private property survey records and providing attestation on deeds and property maps.

V. I. Property Revaluation is the court-ordered review of all property – commercial and residential- in the United States Virgin Islands. This revaluation process began in September 2004 and is scheduled to conclude in August 2006.
