Lieutenant Governor Gregory R. Francis is pleased to announce that the 2011 Health Symposium will be held on September 14-16 at the Divi Carina Bay Resort and Casino on St. Croix.  The Symposium is sponsored by the Office of the Lieutenant Governor, in conjunction with the Virgin Islands State Health Insurance Program (SHIP) and the New York Regional Office of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).  This is the fourth year of this conference, which brings together Medicare providers, partners, stakeholders and advocates to discuss pertinent information on the program. 

Since its inception, the symposium has proven informative to health care providers as they navigate the difficulties of administering Medicare in the Territory.  The Symposium, themed “Working Together for Improved Care, Better Health and Lower Costs”, is an opportunity for Medicare beneficiaries and healthcare providers to network and receive information on the program.  Sessions will range from updates to Medicare, Medicare Prescription Drug benefits, billing and claim processing, and fraud prevention and the status of healthcare reform in the territory.
