Division of Banking and Insurance Employee Nationally Certified in Insurance Regulation

Lieutenant Governor Gregory R. Francis recently commended Juliette Daniel, a Financial Services Examiner of the Virgin Islands Division of Banking and Insurance, on having attained certification as a Professional in Insurance Regulation (PIR), through the National Association of Insurance Commissioner (NAIC) Professional Designation Program.  Francis, who serves as the territory’s Commissioner of Insurance, further congratulates the Division of Banking and Insurance for their continued efforts to strengthen the territory’s regulatory environment.

An employee of the Division of Banking and Insurance since 2006, Ms. Daniel originally attained the designation of Associate Professional in Insurance Regulation (APIR) in 2008.  Ms. Daniel’s PIR designation certifies that she has completed specific educational requirements and mastered a broad range of regulatory competencies.

Since taking office, Lt. Governor Gregory R. Francis has encouraged employees of the Office of the Lt. Governor to pursue opportunities for training.  “Employee training has helped this office to further protect the financial interests of the Virgin Islands consumer and enhanced the levels of customer service we offer to the community,” stated Lt. Governor Francis.

Several employees of the Division of Banking and Insurance have also attained the APIR designation and are working towards achievement of the Professional in Insurance Regulation certification.
