Virgin Islands Tax Assessor Bernadette Williams was recently invited by Rotary Club of St. Croix to speak to its members regarding the status of Virgin Islands property taxes.  Lieutenant Governor Gregory R. Francis also attended the organization’s meeting, which was held on January 27, 2011 at Gertrude’s Restaurant on St. Croix.
 
Tax Assessor Williams thanked Rotary for the opportunity to bring clarity to property tax issues.  She advised property owners of the issue dates for 2007 and 2008 taxes and discussed the transparency of the property tax system.    Lt. Governor Francis expressed his commitment to work with the community to resolve property tax issues.
