Lt. Governor Francis Participates in Groundbreaking for Stanford Complex
Lieutenant Governor Gregory R. Francis recently joined Sir Allen Stanford, Chairman and CEO of the Stanford Financial Group, Governor John P. deJongh, Jr., Senate President Usie R. Richards and other dignitaries to participate in a groundbreaking ceremony for the Stanford Financial Group Global Management Office Complex. The event was held on Thursday, February 21, 2008 at the site of the project, which is near St. Croix’s Henry E. Rohlsen Airport.
The 105,000 square foot complex will house the Stanford company’s global management functions and serve as the base for Caribbean operations.
Lt. Governor Francis hails the project as affirmation that St. Croix is poised to reclaim its stature as a Caribbean hub for Industry, business and development.
During the ceremony, Sir Allen Stanford was commended for his commitment to the Virgin Islands and to St. Croix.
