Lt. Governor Francis Re-Elected to Executive Committee of National Lt. Governor’s Association
The Office of the Lieutenant Governor is pleased to announce that Lt. Governor Gregory R. Francis has been re-elected to the position of East Region Chair of the National Lieutenant Governor’s Association Executive Committee. Francis was first elected to this position in 2009. His current term on the Executive Committee will end in July 2012.
The Executive Committee is responsible to chart the course of issues and work to be pursued by NLGA members. As the East Region Chair, Lt. Governor Francis will work with his colleagues to identify and foster solutions to problems affecting both the states and territories. Locally, Francis has advanced NLGA-led initiatives by leading programs to raise awareness of cervical cancer and asthma.
Francis represents the region comprised of Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont and the Virgin Islands. The NLGA is the professional association for the officeholders first in line of succession to governor in all 50 states and the U.S. territories.
