Lt. Governor’s Office Publishes Abandoned Property List for 2009
The Division of Banking and Insurance announces the publication of the Abandoned Property listing pursuant to T28 Chapter 29 of the Virgin Islands Code. The list details the names and last known addresses of individuals having accounts at banks and other financial services institutions that have been reported as unclaimed. The Office of the Lieutenant Governor serves as the custodian of these unclaimed or abandoned properties.
In accordance with the Uniform Unclaimed Property Act, the listing of abandoned properties will be published in local print and online newspapers. It may also be viewed at the Lt. Governor’s website, www.ltg.gov.vi.
Unclaimed property listings for 2007 and 2008 can also be viewed online at the Lt. Governor’s office website. Earlier years of unclaimed property are not currently online and can be obtained by contacting the Division of Banking and Insurance.
