Office of the Lieutenant Governor Advisesthe Public that the San
Juan Passport Agency is Now Opento Assist Virgin Islands Residents
The Office of the Lieutenant Governor advises the public that the
San Juan Passport Agency has reopened for applicants needing to travel
internationally within two weeks. Virgin Islands customers are welcomed to
travel to Puerto Rico to be accommodated. However, all applicants will
need to present proof of travel to the San Juan Passport Agency.
The San Juan Passport office was closed from April
2015 for renovations and has reopened on Monday, August 17, 2015. According to
the United States Department of State, service times from the VI Passport
Acceptance facilities are currently at 3 weeks for the expedite service, and
4-6 weeks for the routine service.

Appointments are required and can be made by contacting
1-877-487-2778 (toll free) 24 hours a day/seven days a week via an automated
appointment system or via a customer service representative from Monday
to Friday, between 8am and 10pm.
