Second Lady Cheryl Francis and Lt. Governor’s Office Bring An Early Christmas to St. Croix Headstart
The Lt. Governor’s Office brought an early Christmas to children at the Anna’s Hope Headstart Center on St. Croix, when Second Lady Cheryl Francis joined Santa in presenting gifts to approximately 40 children.Mrs. Francis brought Christmas cheer and greetings from the Office of the Lieutenant Governor and the Employee Relations Committee.The gift presentation was made on Wednesday, December 19, 2007.
The gift presentation by the Office of the Lieutenant Governor was facilitated by the Employee Relations Committee, a group that works to foster improved workplace relations and coordinate outreach activities of the Office of the Lieutenant Governor.The committee collected toys, books and stuffed animals to give to the Headstart students. The gifts were donated in memory of Myr-Chel Smith, an active member of the Employee Relations Committee who passed away this year.
After helping Santa Claus share the gifts of books, stuffed animals and educational toys, Mrs. Francis personally greeted every child.The Second Lady was welcomed with hugs and kisses from several of the children, who were excited by their early Christmas presents.
Mrs. Francis thanked Headstart staff for permitting the Office of the Lieutenant Governor to share in their planned Christmas celebration for the children.
