St. Croix Passport Office to Open On Saturday, July 10
Lieutenant Governor Gregory R. Francis is pleased to announce that the St. Croix Passport Office will open on Saturday, July 10, 2010, to enable residents to apply for or renew their passports before passport fees are increased. The new rates go into effect on July 13, 2010. The office, which is located at Government House, St. Croix, will be open from 9 a.m. to noon.
“This is an opportunity for residents who are unable to visit the Passport Office during regular working hours to apply for their passports and also a chance to avoid the increase in passport fees,” Lt. Governor Francis stated. Passport fees will increase from $100 to $135 for adults - classified as persons age 16 and older - and from $85 to $105 for children younger than 16. Passport renewals, now $75, would cost $110. Fees for expedited applications would remain the same at $60. The new fee structure also raises the costs of passport cards and file searches and institutes a cost for additional visa pages.
To apply for a passport, U.S. citizens will need a completed passport or passport renewal application (available at our offices or online at www.ltg.gov.vi); proof of citizenship; proof of identity; two 2x2 photos and associated fees. Additional requirements apply for minor children.
