Tax Assessor Roy Martin to Announce Release of Delinquency Notices
and Tax Amnesty Program at Press Conference
Tax Assessor Roy Martin will hold a press conference at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 2, 2008 to advise the media and members of the community of the issuance of property tax delinquency notices. The press conference will be held in the Rotunda Conference room of the Lt. Governor’s Office at 18 Kongens Gade, Charlotte Amalie. Martin will be joined by Finance Commissioner Claudette Watson-Anderson and Debra Gottlieb, Director of the Office of Management and Budget.
To be discussed are plans to collect delinquent taxes as well as the property tax amnesty program which begins on June 2, 2008. The 120-day amnesty period, which ends on September 30, reduces the financial burden on property owners by waiving interest and penalty fees.
