Lieutenant Governor Tregenza A. Roach, Esq. who also serves as the Chairman of the Virgin Islands Banking Board, announces that the Board will meet on Friday, April 3, 2020 to discuss preventative measures taken against the COVID-19 Coronavirus by USVI banks and the impact of the pandemic on the Territory’s banking system.

“The Board will provide us a general state of affairs, including steps taken to protect the welfare of employees and to assist their clients who may face financial hardship during this economically uncertain time,” said Lieutenant Governor Roach

In adhering to recommended guidelines set by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) regarding social distancing, the meeting will be held via teleconference. Senior banking officials from Popular, Bank of St. Croix, First Bank, Merchants Commercial Bank, and Oriental Bank will participate.
