LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR ROACH ANNOUNCES TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF ST. THOMAS DIVISIONS LOCATED AT NISKY CENTER DUE TO POSITIVE COVID-19 STAFF CASE

Lieutenant Governor Tregenza A. Roach, Esq. advises the public that divisions located on St. Thomas at Suite 1B, Ground Floor of Nisky Center (former Immigration Office- facing Subbase) will be temporarily closed from Tuesday afternoon, April 13, 2021, due to concerns with at least one employee testing positive for COVID-19. Regular business hours will resume on Monday, April 19, 2021. 

Sanitization and COVID-19 mitigation protocols have been activated. All staff have been notified and persons identified as close contacts will be tested by the Virgin Islands Department of Health (DOH) prior to their return to work.

The following divisions will be closed temporarily as offices and units are cleaned and disinfected:

  • Division of Real Property Tax: Office of the Tax Assessor, including the Cadastral Unit, and the Office of the Tax Collector
  • Recorder of Deeds
  • Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
  • V.I. Medicare/Virgin Islands State Health Insurance Assistance Program (VISHIP)
  • Cashiers

The Offices of the Lieutenant Governor have maintained limited public access throughout the pandemic. However, customers are encouraged to get tested if they feel concerned about recent visits to the office.

The VI Department of Health offers free COVID-19 testing on St. Thomas at the Home Depot parking lot and the Lionel Roberts Stadium on designated days.
