Lieutenant Governor Tregenza A. Roach, Esq. informs trade name filers of the upcoming October 1, 2021, trade name renewal fee increase. Pursuant to Act No. 8184, the renewal fee for trade name registrations will increase from $50.00 to $100.00.

Trade name owners are reminded to renew their trade names within the six-month window prior to the expiration date to remain in a current status.  Filers can renew their trade name registrations and make payments on the Division of Corporations and Trademarks’ online Catalyst system at: www.corporationsandtrademarks.vi.gov.

Failure to renew the trade name in accordance with the statutory compliance mandate will result in a forfeiture of the trade name registration. This will occur six months after the expiration date, and the trade name will become available to the next party that files a trade name application for that name and submits the registration fee.

The Catalyst system is accessible 24 hours-a-day, seven days-a-week. Instructions on how to create a user account and utilize the available features of the Catalyst system are available at https://ltg.gov.vi/departments/corporations-trademarks/.
