Lieutenant Governor Tregenza A. Roach, Esq. will leave the Territory today to attend the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) Southeast Zone Meeting in New Orleans, Louisiana. NAIC and the Center for Insurance Policy and Research will host sessions and task force activities specifically designed to educate state legislators and government officials about key aspects of state-based insurance regulations, provide an overview of NAIC services and engage in discussions regarding key policy developments.

In his capacity as the Commissioner of Insurance, Lieutenant Governor Roach will participate in several meetings regarding NAIC initiatives and model laws to include: state options for real health insurance reform, storm predictive software demonstration, Congressional budget reconciliation bill and hidden costs to insurance consumers, and the adoption of reports from the NAIC standing committees.

Lieutenant Governor Roach will return to the Territory on October 9, 2021. During his absence, Senate President Donna Frett-Gregory will assume the duties of the Lieutenant Governor, as per the Revised Organic Act of the Virgin Islands.
