Lieutenant Governor Tregenza A. Roach, Esq is out of the Territory attending the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) Spring Meeting in Orlando, Florida. NAIC and the Center for Insurance Policy and Research will host sessions and task force activities for NAIC Members and State Insurance Regulators.

In his capacity as the Commissioner of Insurance, Lieutenant Governor Roach will participate in meetings regarding several initiatives to include financial regulation standards, international insurance relations, innovation and technology, financial stability, life insurance and annuities, health insurance, market regulation, consumer affairs, and property/casualty insurance.

“As a member of NAIC, I recognize the importance of attending and actively participating in discussions on updated policies, laws, and amendments that impact insurance regulatory initiatives. During our scheduled meetings, task force committees will consider the adoption of various reports relevant to developments in the insurance industry. The Spring Meeting provides a well needed forum to establishing a dialogue between insurance regulators, industry representatives, and NAIC members on issues of common interest,” stated Lieutenant Governor Roach.

Lieutenant Governor Roach will return to the Territory on April 10, 2019. During his absence, Senate President Kenneth L. Gittens will assume the duties of the lieutenant governor, as per the Revised Organic Act of the Virgin Islands.
