Lieutenant Governor Tregenza A. Roach is out of the Territory attending the National Lieutenant Governor’s Association (NLGA) Federal-State Relations Meeting in Washington, D.C. NLGA conducts a Federal-State Relations Meeting annually in March.

At this meeting, participants will discuss state, federal, and international affairs. Topics will include the economy and trade, strategies to address homelessness, Veterans health care, federal/state relations, and water and higher education policy. Policy resolutions will be presented for consideration.

“The NLGA Federal-State Relations Meeting provides a platform for lieutenant governors from 50 states and five U.S. Territories to meet, plan, network, and participate in discussions on key issues. This professional association also provides the opportunity for leadership training focused on improving the duties of the office of the lieutenant governor. I look forward to a productive and successful meeting as we address issues that impact all levels of government,” said Lieutenant Governor Roach.

Lieutenant Governor Roach will return to the Territory on March 30, 2019. During his absence, Senate President Kenneth L. Gittens will assume the duties of the lieutenant governor, as per the Revised Organic Act of the Virgin Islands.
