Lt. Governor’s Office Implements Collection Boxes to Accommodate Property Tax Payers

The Office of the Lieutenant Governor has implemented collection boxes at three of its locations throughout the territory as it prepares to issue the 2010 property bills.  The collection boxes are installed at three of the most heavily trafficked Tax Collector’s Offices in an effort to reduce the long lines experienced by property tax payers and also improve the customer service offered by the Lieutenant Governor’s Office.  Collection boxes are presently available at Builder’s Emporium on St. Thomas and will be installed at the Sunny Isles (Department of Finance) and Frederiksted locations on St. Croix this week.

Only check or money order payments can be deposited into the drop boxes. Property owners utilizing the drop boxes are asked to include the bottom portion of the bill in the payment envelope.  In addition, drop box users who would like a receipt are asked to include casino live games a self-addressed stamped envelope with their payment in order to receive a stamped receipt.  Property tax payers are reminded that payments made with cash, ATM, debit and credit cards (Visa and Mastercard only) can be made at the window only.

Property tax bills can be paid at any of the following locations:

St. John:       Islandia Building
St. Thomas:  Builders Emporium (collection box available)
St. Croix:     1105 King Street (Government House, Christiansted)
1131 King Street, Suite #101 (Christiansted)
Dept. of Finance, Sunny Isles (collection box available)
                  #1 Lagoon Street, Frederiksted  (collection box available)

Newly installed collection boxes offer property owners convenience when paying their property taxes.
