LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR ROACH SCHEDULES PRESS CONFERENCE TO LAUNCH ST. CROIX BRIDGE PHASE OF STREET ADDRESSING INITIATIVE

Lieutenant Governor Tregenza A. Roach, Esq. will hold a press conference at 10:00am on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 to announce the launch of the St. Croix Street Addressing Initiative (SAI) Bridge Phase. The press conference will be held in the Ballroom at Government House in Christiansted, St. Croix.

“The Bridge Phase on St. Thomas was completed in January and focused on the downtown Charlotte Amalie area. As we move to St. Croix, field crews will actively work in designated urban areas in Christiansted and Frederiksted. On St. John, the remainder of Cruz Bay and the Eastern Estates will immediately follow the conclusion of St. Croix,” said Lieutenant Governor Roach.

“The Street Addressing Initiative continues to serve as a critical project for the Territory. The Bridge Phase on each island brings us one step closer to the implementation of a nationally standardized address grid for the Virgin Islands that will drastically improve navigation and location capabilities for emergency services/responders, postal services, utilities, several key agencies and departments,” said Lieutenant Governor Roach.

The press conference will highlight next steps of the SAI project on St. Croix and will provide residents with information regarding the implementation of the new addresses. Additionally, Lieutenant Governor Roach will announce scheduled information sessions on each island for the business community. Sessions will be hosted by the Office of the Lieutenant Governor’s Division of Corporations and Trademarks on its online Catalyst system.
